Results of Ukrainian Adaptation of the Pediatric Symptom Checklist with Abused Children

The aim of the study was to adapt a very popular in world screening questionnaire for assessment children psychosocial functioning. Both (parent and youth) versions Pediatric Symptom Checklist (PSC, Y-PSC) M. S. Jellinek, J. Murphy et al. were validated Ukraine so find out their cross-cultural universality usefulness. total number participants 532: 281 parents fulfilled PSC-Ukr 251 Y-PSC-Ukr. sample included ordinary children, ones from families with domestic abuse small clinical sample. Clinical interview, Kinetic Family Drawings Sentence Completion Test used PSC questionnaires. Methods classical test theory, confirmatory factor analysis ROC-analysis tests validation. Adapted appeared reliable valid but had unusually low cut-offs two-factor structure (internalizing externalizing symptoms without separate attention deficit factor). Weak economy, military actions upbringing peculiarities can be reasons unusual cut-off adapted tests. This will useful practitioners researchers mental health social work areas. PSC-Uke Y-PSC-Ukr recommended use problematic populations like as these methods reveal forms degrees children’s dysfunction through negative growth conditions.
